Sage and Jared’s Happy Gland Band

Sage and Jared’s Happy Gland Band “comes from the flipside of the universe, another dimension,” according to Hakim Bellamy, Albuquerque’s poet laureate. Sage Harrington plays ukulele, Jared Putnam (of filthy, mangy jazz band Le Chat Lunatique) plays upright bass, and Greg Williams (also of Le Chat Lunatique) is percussionist. Sage and Jared are well-known for their whimsical, hilarious handmade music videos—look them up on YouTube. The songs from Sage and Jared’s latest album, “Get it Up,” are original pieces that run from the fun indie folk numbers reminiscent of their first disc (Flooded Away) to moodier numbers, even a sepulchral suicide ballad. At their live shows listen for their witty original tunes with a sprinkling of 1920s golden era ukulele jazz songs.
